“I wonder how Susie feels not having her guy here with her.”

  “I’m sure she’s fine.”

“I wouldn’t be, especially if I were sitting here alone watching Anna and Rick doing that.” I nodded toward Anna and Rick who were kissing.

“Well, you’re not alone.” He leaned into me supporting himself on his right arm as he soothingly touched my cheek with his other hand kissing me tenderly for what seemed like minutes when suddenly we were splashed with water by Rick and Anna.

Kaden and I jumped to our feet as we splashed Anna and Rick back then they splashed us back once more and took off running. Kaden and I sprang into action as we chased them down the beach trying to splash them back with water, but no matter how hard we tried we couldn’t splash them because they kept jumping out of the way.

Soon Kaden and I gave up, falling down on the sand exhausted. Anna and Rick noticed they weren’t being chased anymore so they ran back to us, plopping down on the sand, breathing hard.

“You guys are so unfair,” Kaden breathed heavily.

“We’re not unfair. You guys were too slow. Maybe you two should start running a mile in the mornings,” Rick joked.

  “Ha-ha!” I scrunched my nose.

“I’m in need of a shower,” Anna complained as she stood up intending to head back to the house.

“I could use one too,” I jumped up.

Anna and I ran ahead of the guys laughing and horsing around. When I stepped out of the shower I wrapped a towel around my body tucking it so it wouldn’t unravel while I was getting my clothes.

When I stepped into the bedroom; I spotted Kaden laying sexily across the bed with jeans and no shirt on baring his ripped chest and muscular arms.

“It’s not nice to stare, Sara,” Kaden stated sexily. I smiled slightly as I looked away digging through my dresser for an outfit. Kaden took me by surprise as he gripped my waist pulling me from the dresser and into his body. “Don’t we look amazing together?” Kaden asked as he whispered into my ear glancing at our images in the mirror.

“Yeah, Kaden, amazing,” I grabbed my clothes and hurried to the bathroom locking it behind me.

“Hey, that’s not fair,” Kaden moaned.

“What’s not fair?” I asked as I dressed.

  “I wanted to watch.”

“Sorry. This body is not viewable.”

  “I promise I won’t touch.”

I opened the door revealing my dressed body making Kaden huff and turn up his nose as he began walking away. As I started to blow-dry my hair Kaden whisked me out of the bathroom tossing me onto the bed then he climbed on top of me kissing my lips and neck making me want to rip off his undergarments.

I began to undo his pants when the door burst open revealing Anna and Susie. Kaden and I jumped up like we were teenagers being caught by one of our parents.

“Thanks for knocking,” Kaden said as he ran his fingers through his hair.

Anna and Susie gritted their teeth as they giggled. “Sorry,” They apologized.

I looked at them as thoughts began racing through my mind. I hurriedly went back into the bathroom locking the door behind me leaving everyone in the room asking if I was okay and I tried to assure them I was fine.

After I thought everyone had left the room I sat on the toilet lid crying.

“I knew you were lying,” Anna spoke through the other side of the door.

I looked at the door alarmed that I had been caught. I got up and allowed Anna in only to lock the door once she’d entered.

  “What’s the deal?” Anna quizzed.

“I feel so stupid!” I stated.

“Was it because Anna and I walked in on you and Kaden?”

“You two should really learn how to knock.”

“I’ll remember that next time.” She grinned.

“But, no, it wasn’t because of that. I was about to disobey my mother after I told her Kaden and I weren’t interested in having sex yet.”

“Come on. Every daughter disobeys their mother once-in-awhile.”

  “Not me.”

“Come on goody-two-shoes. How can you resist having sex with Kaden?”

  “That’s the problem; I can’t.”

  “Then stop trying.”

I smiled. “What do you suppose I do?”

“Get over yourself and get under them sheets tonight and get busy with it.”

I laughed. “Anna, only you would say that.”

“And it’s only the truth.” I sighed as I plopped back onto the toilet lid. “Look.” Anna pulled me off of the toilet. “You’re sixteen and I understand at this age why you want to keep promises to your Mom, but I bet even she would encourage you to get freaky with Kaden.”

I eyed her as I laughed. “Are you stuck back in the olden days?”

She giggled as she opened the bathroom door. “Let’s get downstairs and eat dinner. Everyone is probably waiting for us.”

I followed her out of the bathroom as we started for downstairs. “No. They probably ate without us and left our plates out to rot.”

We giggled as we trotted down the stairs.

After we ate dinner Kaden and I sat out on the porch beside the living room while Anna and Rick went to their room to do only the unthinkable and Susie went to her room to call Jake.

“I’m feeling awkward about earlier,” Kaden informed me.

“I want to have sex with you, Kaden, but I don’t want to disobey my mom either,” I complained.

He sighed. “Is it going to be like this all the time?”

  “Be like what, Kaden?”

“Where you won’t do something just because you promised your mother you wouldn’t.”

“We agreed to not have sex, Kaden, Don’t bring my mom into this.”

“Well, she’s the reason why you won’t have sex with me. And I only agreed to not have sex with you to please you.”

“So, you really don’t love me! A true guy would wait to have sex if they really loved the girl they were with!” I yelled.

“I do love you, Sara, but I’m not going to wait around to experience things in life just because you promise your Mom you wouldn’t do it!” He yelled back.

“You know what! I wish the word sex was never invented! I wish I had never met you.” I groaned meanly then I walked away as he stood there staring at me.

I went to my room slamming the door behind me then I plopped myself on the bed as I cried. No sooner than I began crying a soft tapping sounded at the door and Anna peeped in.

“Need a friend?” Anna asked as she joined me on the bed.

  “Not really,” I replied.

  “I heard what happened.”

  “Ease drop much?” I huffed.

“It was hard not to hear the two of you yelling at each other with the door wide open.”

“You still didn’t have the right to stand there and listen.” I remarked snottily.

“You’re right I didn’t have the right to listen.” Anna spoke as she walked to the door preparing to leave when she looked back at me just before shutting the door. “You should learn to get all the facts before assuming something because I didn’t listen to your conversation.”

After she left I lay back on the bed crying thinking, great! I just lost my best friend. I sprang to my feet and ran down the hallway catching Anna just before entering her room.

“I’m sorry, Anna. I really do need a friend,” I pleaded.

She sighed as she shot me a dirty look. “I don’t feel I should speak to you right now maybe even never again,” Anna replied angrily.

“Please, Anna. You can’t hate me forever.” I pouted.

She eyed me for a couple moments then she grinned. “Okay. Come on in.”

>   “Where’s Rick?” I asked as I stepped into her room.

“He’s talking to Kaden.” She invited me to sit with her on her bed under the covers.

“I don’t know if I should. I know you and Rick did the dirty underneath these blankets,” I turned up my nose.

Anna smiled. “We don’t have cooties.”

I joined her as she popped open a bag of chips which wasn’t a good idea because the bottom popped open instead of the top, but thankfully for my quick reflexes I caught the bottom of the bag only allowing a handful of chips to fall onto the bed which Anna scooped up and threw away as we giggled.

“What movie were you getting ready to watch,” I pointed to the paused TV.

“Oh, Rick and I were going to watch Love Happens, but now you and I are going to watch it,” Anna replied as she played the movie.

  “Are you sure?”

“It’s too late now. It’s already playing.”

“There’s a party and I wasn’t invited?” Susie asked moving Anna and me aside as she climbed in-between us.

“Wouldn’t be the first time,” Anna joked.

Susie gave her a dirty look as she shoved her.

“Hey, you two be nice,” I said.

“So, what’s going on?” Susie asked.

“Sara has a sexual problem,” Anna informed her.

“Let me guess, he can’t get it up?” Susie giggled.

“Of course he can!” I replied defensively.

“Then what’s the four-one-one?” Susie asked.

“You guys are making a joke of this,” I rolled my eyes as I got out of bed headed for the door when Susie leaped across the bed pulling me back making me fall onto the bed, but I hopped right back up standing with my back to them with my arms crossed.

“Sara. You have a plump butt, but I’d rather look at your face because your butt doesn’t talk back,” Susie giggled.

“It would if she farted,” Anna laughed.

I snorted a laugh as I whisked around, grabbed a pillow and started beating Anna and Susie with it. Anna and Susie eventually got away from me, standing across the room from me with pillows in their grip.

“Oh, no, she didn’t,” Susie pursed her lips as she snapped her fingers in a prissy gesture.

“What are you going to do about it?” I teased them.

Anna and Susie looked at each other momentarily then they leaped across the bed at me attacking me with their pillows. I tried my best to get out of the line of fire, but no matter how hard I tried I was just wasting my energy so I took cover in the bathroom, locking the door so they couldn’t get in to attack me.

I sat against the door breathing hard as I tried to catch my breath.

“You sure do know how to start a fight, but you can’t finish it,” Susie teased me.

“She can’t take the pain,” Anna added teasingly.

I wrinkled my nose as I stood up and whisked the door open sending Anna and Susie backwards on the floor and I took this opportunity to win the fight. As I was beating them with the pillow Rick and Kaden entered the room and I stopped abruptly staring at them as Anna and Susie lay on the floor laughing.

“What in the world are you girls doing?” Rick asked as he stepped over to help Anna and Susie off the floor.

I moved over toward the door as I threw the pillow on the bed.

“We were just having a pillow fight,” I replied uneasily.

“Then why do you seem like you’ve done something wrong?” Kaden asked.

I crossed my arms as I shrugged my shoulders.

“She didn’t do anything wrong. We were just having fun,” Anna assured them.

“Well, in that case I see you girls started the party without Kaden and me,” Rick eyed the chips and sodas sitting out.

“Sorry,” Anna wacked him with a pillow.

Rick hung his mouth open. “Oh, it’s on now!” Rick wacked Anna back then Susie jumped into the mix as Kaden and I stood near the door like we didn’t belong there.

“Sara, could I talk to you for a moment?” Kaden asked as he took my hand leading me out of the room not giving me a chance to accept or deny his request.

Kaden led me down the stairs out to the porch where we had our mishap earlier.

I hopped up on the railing next to a pole that was holding the railing together and the patio above us which was connected to Anna and Rick’s room.

“I’m sorry about earlier. I should respect you and your wish to not have sex again until you’re older or the night we get married,” Kaden said.

I smiled. “I love you, you know.” I hopped down from the railing and kissed him sweetly.

  He smiled widely. “I know.”

“What do you say we go join the party?”

“Are you sure you want to go in that room with those crazy people?”

  “Yeah, you’ll protect me.”

“Are you sure about that? If they get too violent I might leave you hanging.”

I play pushed him then he tickled me. I took off running for the stairs, but he kept catching up with me.

Once we joined Anna, Rick and Susie in the room we all lounged around eating too many sweets and drinking too many sodas as we watched Love Happens.

The next morning we started out the day by devouring breakfast then the girls and I logged onto Facebook through my account seeing I had a message from Lucy I opened it and it read: Sara, little do you know Kaden does love me and no matter how much he wants to deny it; we have great sex! When he returns home I’ll be waiting for him and you’ll see he’ll kick you out on your ass and take me cradled in his arms. I hope you know what’s coming for you. I will be finishing that little fight we had, so you better watch you back because I’ll be pounding on it.

  Love,

  Lucy

“That skanky bitch!” I yelled as I deleted and blocked her from my page.

“Sara’s mad everybody; watch out!” Susie joked.

“What nerve she has,” Anna said.

“Beat the brakes off of that bitch!” Rick added.

I laughed. “How do you know what we’re talking about?” I asked.

  “Anna told me,” Rick replied.

“Now I know not to trust you to keep a secret,” I eyed Anna.

“I’ve got your back,” Susie pursed her lips as she balled up her fist and hit her other hand.

“Honey I don’t need no help. Lucy is weak as a twig. She’ll break in-half just by me blowing my breath at her,” I smiled.

“Anybody would break in-half smelling your rotten breath,” Kaden joked.

I eyed him evilly as I went over and sat beside him on the couch playfully pushing him.

“You might want to watch out Kaden. Sara might beat the brakes off your ass,” Rick laughed.

  Kaden smiled at him.

“Lets forget about Lucy and get a move on activities for today,” Susie said.

“Are you in a rush?” Anna quizzed.

“We’re leaving tomorrow. I want to make the best of today,” Susie added.

“We’ll we need to pack out suit cases expect for what we’ll need in the morning,” Kaden informed us.

After we packed everything we headed to the main strip that was lined with stores and a Wax Museum, a haunted house and a mirror elusion room. After we shopped and explored this area we went to the boardwalk where you could say we shopped until we dropped. Once we dropped off our bags at the house we ate lunch then we went mini golfing. Then we went to a steakhouse restaurant that was on the boardwalk to have dinner.

“I’m glad we came back to the boardwalk. I missed a store,” I said.

“What store? I thought we went in every one,” Susie quizzed.

  “We missed build a bear
workshop. I want to make Riley a bear,” I replied.

“Awe, she’ll love that,” Anna smiled.

“Do you want a bear too, Anna?” Rick teased her.

“You know what I just might make me a bear,” Anna shot back.

“I think I will too. Might as well do anything we can while we’re here,” Susie added.

After we ate we went into build a bear workshop then we went home and hung out on the beach until dusk then we went back home; watched a couple movies in the living room while we hung out and chatted.

The next morning we awoke early. Rick and Kaden took turns driving back home. When we arrived at Heather’s I saw Anna and Susie’s parent’s waiting for them. I heard something whine toward the mansion doors; I looked over to see Sadie! I ran to the pug and took her from Heather.

“Thank you for caring for her! I have missed her so much!” I said excitedly. I kissed Sadie on the head as she licked my cheeks.

“Did you have a good time?” Heather asked me.

“I sure did! However, I’m glad to be back!”

“You won’t be for long!” I turned around to see Anna.

  “What do you mean?”

  “Susie is leaving!”

“I know! She has to go home,” I said confused.

“No, Sara, she is leaving for Utah right this instant!”

I looked up to see Susie walking toward us. As she got closer I could see tears running down her cheeks.

Anna, Susie and I hugged. “We will miss you!” I said chocking though tears.

“I will miss you guys so much! Stay in touch,” Susie said.

  “We will,” Anna assured her.

Susie let go and headed toward her parents who were waiting for her in the car. Anna and I waved good-bye to Susie while she headed out of the driveway. When we could no longer see the car, Anna hugged me one last time and then she left.

Kaden hugged me; I buried my face into his chest while I held to Sadie. “I’m going to miss her so much!”

“I know you are!” Kaden replied.

Kaden wrapped his arm around my waist as we went into the mansion. I was desperately going to miss Susie. I may not have been as close to her as I was to Anna and Lucy at one point, but I still felt like my heart was missing a piece. I’m starting to feel like I’m losing my friends. I don’t know what I would do if I lost Anna too.
