Love Goes On Page 3

I looked at my mom. “We should start to smell the fragrant scents,” I said.

Mom laughed. “Okay,” she said. As we smelled and loaded our bags, we talked. “So, have you picked a date for your wedding?”

“No. I feel like I have time to arrange the date because I won’t be getting married until I’m of age.”

  “I can understand that.”

“Yeah, I figured it wouldn’t be any harm to marry him when I’m of age even though I’ll be going to college soon after graduating high school.”

  “Sounds like a good plan.”

  “Yeah, so how’s Dad?”

“He’s fine. He keeps getting colds, but the doctor says that it’s because of the pollen and his allergies.”

“I’ve never known Dad to be that sick.”

“Me either. But if the doctor says he’s fine, then I’ll believe him.”

After Mom and I thought we had $100 worth of items, we paid and, sure enough, my order came to $110. Mom’s came to $112.

After we paid and received our free bags, we got into the van and headed to the mansion.

“Well, give Dad my love. I really hope he feels better soon,” I said.

“Me too, Sweetheart,” Mom replied as she started crying.

  “What’s the matter?”

“I think it’s something more, but I don’t want to think that.”

“No one does, Mom, but if you have a bad feeling, you should take Dad to a specialist.”

  “I may do that.”

“Ease you mind; you’ll feel better.”

Mom wiped away her tears. “You always made me feel better even when you were little,” Mom smiled at me.

  “I did?”

“Yeah, this one time I was sick, and you came into my room with a wet rag and laid it on my forehead and said, “This will make you feel better Mommy.” It was so sweet of you. You brought tears to my eyes.”

“Awe, was I always that sweet?”

Mom laughed. “No, I was watching you dance in your room one day. You looked so cute and I just couldn’t stop watching you twirl around and around. But then you saw me and said. “Excuse me. I’m dancing.” With attitude and your hands on your hips I said, “Okay, excuse me.” it was so cute!”

“Well, I don’t recall being mean.”

Mom laughed. “You were sweet most of the time.”

“Well, that’s good. Mom, I forgot. Can we go to Macy’s?”

When we arrived, we shopped together. I picked out dresses, shirts, and pants, some clothes for Riley, a white polo shirt with blue strips for Kaden, and a few shirts for Mom and Dad. I also picked up a card for Kaden. When I paid, I stuck the items I bought for my parents and Riley in my mom’s bags and set mine on my side. As we headed back to the mansion, I wrote I love you very much. Love Sara, Your Beauty in the card; then I sealed it.

When we arrived at the mansion, Kaden took my bags to the bedroom as I said good-bye to my mom. When I went inside to my bedroom; Kaden was sitting on the bed.

“Did you have fun?” Kaden asked me.

“I did! I bought you a present!” I handed Kaden the card and his shirt.

Kaden held the shirt up to his body. “I like this shirt. It’s nice.” He opened the card and read the beautiful poem that lay inside:

  “Love me always

  From the moment we met

I knew you were the one

  The one I loved

The one I trusted to never break my heart

The one I’d kiss every day

The one I’d grow old with

The one I knew who would always love me.”

He turned around to face me, smiling as he closed the card. “This poem is so beautiful!”

“I thought so too.” I grinned.

He tossed the card on the bed and caressed my face as we learned in and kissed.

The next morning when Kaden and I awoke, we dressed. I put on a pink dress with spaghetti straps with big pink, green and red flowers. It was really a beautiful flowing dress! I put on a pair of plain white flat footed shoes, with a flower on the top of each shoe. I went into the bathroom and blow-dried my hair then I curled my hair in big loose curls and stuck a pink hibiscus rose on the top right side of my hair. Hibiscus flowers were my favorite.

I walked into the bedroom. Kaden was wearing the shirt I bought him with khaki pants. He looked sexy!

“You are looking gorgeous, Sara!” Kaden said.

“You are looking stunningly handsome!” I replied smiling.

“Thank you, My Beauty. Are you ready for your party? People have been here since eight this morning setting up. They’re almost done.”

  “How do you know this?”

“Because I took Sadie outside and it does look like the beach out back!”

I smiled. “Well, I hope so because that’s the theme I picked!”

Kaden laughed. “Well, are you ready?”

“Yes!” Kaden kissed me. Then we went downstairs, opening the big front doors and standing on either side of them.

There was a red rug leading to the back door with blown-up pineapple trees along either side, waist high with floral raffia decorating fringe, it was orange, green, and pink with a hibiscus flower in between each color of the fringe at the top.

The first guest to arrive was the camera man. He took out his camera immediately to take photos. After Kaden and I greeted everyone, we closed the doors and headed out to the backyard. But as I walked the photographer took pictures. When I stepped outside; everyone yelled, “Happy birthday, Sara!”

I blushed with embarrassment. “Thank you everyone and thank you all so much for coming.” I said.

There was a piñata hanging on the porch above me on a nail that was used for hanging flower pots. Inside the piñata was Sweet Tarts, Charm Blow Pops, Starburst, Now and Later and Jolly Rancher Lollipops.

I looked around me. There was sand as one walked outside ending at the tables in front of the big garden. On the sand were a luau limbo game and a net to play volleyball and badminton. To my left was the DJ playing music. There was a face painting also. To my left also on the sand was a big tub of water balloons. As I walked over to the tables, there were people playing Halex Velcro Catch Game. There were two games for little kids. An inflatable three in a Row Game and an animal golf set. Little kids were playing those games and laughing like crazy.

I continued to walk over to the ten tables decorated with table covers that were white in the middle with blue on either side. There were also different shapes and colors of flowers on the tablecloths.

Also on the tables were centerpieces which were hibiscus flowers in a bucket. Every bucket was a different color. On the food tables was the same tablecloth with pink bowls. The plates were the same as the table cloths expect the middle of the dinner plates and the cake plates were different colors. The napkins matched the plates.

The silverware was red, green, and orange. The favor boxes were yellow, kiwi, and blue. In each of them were a few pieces of candy, one tike lounge shot necklace, one hibiscus flower hair clip for the girls, light up foam sunglasses for the boys, and one small pack of water balloons

There were pink plastic floral wine glasses with hibiscus flowers attached to the base of each one; in each wine glass was a tike hibiscus flower straw. Around the tables were yellow balloons and my sweet 16 balloon. My balloon was black with stars, the 16 in pink with white dots outlining the 16 and the middle of the 6 was gray with sweet underneath a crown.

Toward the pool was a pineapple bowling set. People playing with splash balls, Frisbees and footballs. People closer to the pool were playing with water paddle ball sets. The pool was decorated with hibiscus flower balloons attached to pineapple weights.

  The guy
s were given floral band straw hats while the girls were given two-tone blue/green mini hula skirts with hibiscus flowers at the waist. Everyone wore rainbow sunset lei, with purple, blue, white, red and green hibiscus flowers.

What a wonderful time everyone was having. I walked over to my parent’s because Kaden was standing there talking to them.

“What kind of nonsense are you putting in my parent’s heads?” I asked Kaden jokingly.

Kaden gave me a funny look. “Nothing, My Beauty,” Kaden responded as he kissed me.

“How do you like everything?” Mom asked me.

  “Love it!” I said excitedly.

“I’m glad you like it,” Dad said.

I took Riley from my mom. “How are you Miss Riley?” She laughed at me. “I guess that means you’re doing well!” We laughed as I handed Riley back to Mom.

“Let’s get everyone eating,” Kaden said.

“How are you going to get everyone over here to eat?” I asked Kaden.

“Like this.” Kaden pulled a mega phone from nowhere and said, “EVERYONE, PLEASE COME EAT!”

I grabbed my plate because I went first. After I got my food, I sat at a table and started to eat. A few minutes later Anna, Susie and Lucy joined me at the table.

  “Hello ladies!” I said.

“Hey!” They all said at the same time.

“This is really pretty!” Anna said.

  “Thank you,” I said.

“Where is that hunk of a man of yours?” Lucy asked me.

  I laughed. “I’m not sure?”

“You have the hottest guy here, and you’re not worried where he is?” Lucy asked me in a surprised tone.

“No, I trust him,” I replied.

“Well, I’d have him on a leash,” Lucy said.

“Would you now?” Lucy turned around to see Kaden standing behind her.

“No, I was joking,” Lucy said blushing.

Kaden smiled at her. Then he sat next to me. “Hello, Sara!” He kissed me and everyone said, “Awe!”

“Oh, look who’s blushing now,” Lucy teased me.

  “Oh, stop!” I said.

“What have you girls been up to?” Kaden asked.

“I’m searching for a guy,” Lucy said.

  “As always,” Susie said sarcastically.

“Hey!” Lucy yelled at Susie and stood up from the table. Kaden ran over to Lucy and sat her down.

“No need to fight! This is Sara’s day,” Kaden informed her.

“Whatever!” Lucy said and got up from the table. I never saw her anymore that night. After Lucy disappeared I opened my gifts. I received mainly gift cards for clothes and some jewelry. I cut my three-layered cake. What a delicious chocolate cake with decorations of real hibiscus flowers!

I danced with Kaden a few times and then my dad. My mom and dad were the first to leave because Riley was being fussy. Once the last guest left; Kaden and I went straight to bed falling asleep as soon as our heads touched our pillows.

The next morning I woke up to a ringing cell phone. I answered in a sleepy voice.

  “Hello?” I asked.

  “Sara, it’s Mom,” Mom said.

I perked up fast. “Is something wrong?”

“No. I wanted to know if you and Kaden want to go to Lake Frederick with us today.”

“Let me wake him and see.” I turned to wake Kaden, but he wasn’t there. I looked over at Sadie’s room, and she wasn’t there either. “He probably took Sadie outside.”

“Okay, call me back, and let me know?”

  “Okay, Mom.” We hung up.

After I showered and dressed I went downstairs. I heard loud noises coming from the backyard. I walked over to the back door and saw men cleaning up the sand and decorations from the party.

“Hey!” I heard a guy’s voice say from behind me.

I jumped and my heart beat faster. I turned around and saw Kaden behind me. My heart calmed down. “You scared the living crap out of me!” I exclaimed.

Kaden laughed. “I don’t see any crap so I guess you didn’t!” Kaden said.

  I laughed. “Stop, Kaden!”

  “Well, you said it!”

I walked over to him. “My mom wanted to know if you and I wanted to go to Lake Frederick today.”

“Sure! Let me put Sadie in her room.”

I phoned my mom while Kaden went upstairs with Sadie at his heels.

  “Hello?” Mom asked.

  “Mom, we’re coming,” I said.

“Okay, we’ll be there at twelve noon, its eleven-forty-four right now.”

“Sara,” I heard Kaden say. I looked over at the stairs to see him standing there. “Tell her I’ll bring the limo to their house.”

“No need to tell me, Sara, I heard him,” Mom said.

“Okay, we’ll see you then. Good-bye and I love you!”

“Bye and I love you!” We hung up.

We went into the dining room for breakfast, and Heather was sitting there already.

We sat down. “Did you enjoy your party, Sara?” Heather asked me.

“I did! It was wonderful!” I exclaimed.

“Here” Heather handed me a bag full of envelopes with my party pictures.

“Wow! He took a lot of photos.”

  “He sure did!”

I set the bag on the other side of me. After Kaden and I ate, we excused ourselves. I took the photos to my room. Then Kaden and I put on our swimsuits under our clothes. We got into the limo and headed to my mom’s house.

After we picked up my parent’s and Riley, we headed to the lake. Upon reaching the lake, we bordered the boat with a driver. Kaden and I got onto the float first. It was fun!

We each took turns. When we headed back to shore, I closed my eyes and listened to the music of the earth, I heard the water rushing against the boat, the wind blowing through my long brown hair and the birds chirping. Such a peaceful feeling!

When we reached my mom’s house, Dad wanted me to come inside. So I did. I sat on the couch as my dad sat in his chair.

“Sara, I’m sorry for being so rude and mean to you,” Dad said.

  “Its okay, Dad,” I said.

“No, Sara, it’s not. My actions were uncalled for and just plain out mean. I was very disrespectful to you. You are my daughter, a good daughter at that. I’m sorry, Sara!”

Dad started crying. He got up and sat beside me. “Please forgive me. I’m truly sorry,”

“Dad, I forgive you. I will tell you that I hated you at times for being so mean to me; but you are still my dad, and I love you.”

We hugged. “Thank you, Sara. I love you too.”

After I hugged and told my mom, dad and Riley good-bye I joined Kaden back in the limo and we went home.

As we lay in bed waiting for our eyes to close Kaden turned to me running his fingers through my hair.

“What did your Dad want?” Kaden asked.

“He wanted to apologize for being so mean to me,” I replied.

“Why was Joe mean to you?”

“I guess his work had a lot to do with his anger towards people.”

“What do you mean as in him being mean to you?”

“He would be mean to me verbally. No matter how mad my dad would get he never would lay a hand on me.”

“Well, I’m glad you two worked through this.”

I smiled as we kissed momentarily.

  France

Today was September sixteenth which was Kaden’s birthday. I had taken the day off from school so I could spend it with him. Earlier today I bought him a gold watch, a new polo shirt and a card! I took Kaden out to dinner to a high class restaurant outside of town called; Divi
ne Italininia which caused for fancy apparel. Kaden was also sporting his new watch.

“Thank you for this magnificent dinner,” Kaden thanked me.

  “You’re welcome,” I smiled.

“So, what looks appealing to you?” he asked me as he glanced over the menu.

At that moment our waitress arrived ready to take our order. “What will you be having?” she asked.

“Oh, I think I’ll have the lobster dish.”

“I will have the same. It looks too delicious to pass up.” He grinned at the waitress as we handed her the menus.

The waitress returned a flirtatious smile before she walked away.

“Looks like you’ve got an admirer.”

“You’re my only admirer.” He kissed my hand.

The next morning when I awoke, I looked over to see Kaden, but he wasn’t there. Instead there was a little note. I picked it up and read:

Meet me at the big flowerbed.

  With love and surprises,

  Kaden

I placed the note down on the bed. I got out of bed and put on a robe. As I opened the back door, I could see Kaden standing in front of the big flowerbed smiling.

As I approached him I could see cardboard cutouts placed backwards taunting me, curious about what was on them.

“Good morning, Beautiful. Did you sleep well?” Kaden asked in an upbeat voice.

“Good morning! What are these?” I referred to the cutouts.

“This is my surprise.” He stepped over to the first cutout and turned it around revealing an extravagant hotel with the words; Westin Paris-Vendôme written across the top in bold letters. “This is where we’ll be staying.” He stepped over to the next cutout revealing a picture of an airplane. “This is the airplane we will be taking; first class to FRANCE!”

I giggled enthusiastically as I ran over to him hugging him tightly. “Well, duh!”

He chuckled. “That’s all you’ve got to say?”

“I’m super excited! When are we leaving?” I smiled.

“As soon as you get dressed and packed.”
