“Well, they have one appointment for today and I took it.”
“Good. What time?”
“She said to meet her there around six.”
I glanced at his cell phone and noticed it was almost six. “It’s that time now, lets go.”
“Sounds good, but we have to take the pugs to their room first.”
“Oh, yeah, you’re right.”
Kaden laughed. “Slow down and breathe. We’ll get to the house. It’s not going anywhere.”
“How do you know it’s not going anywhere? Another couple might be trying to buy the house right now.”
“Where is the house located?” I asked as we drove.
“It’s only a few miles out of town.”
“Is the house located in a neighborhood or by its self?”
“The house we’re going to see is located in a wealthy neighborhood, and it’s situated in a wooded area.”
“Oh, that sounds very lovely!”
Kaden chuckled, “It’s nice, and you’ll like it!”
“I know I will.”
As we drove into the neighborhood, there were amazing houses with well-groomed lawns. We turned onto a long paved driveway with trees lined on either side. When we arrived at the house, we viewed a wide open area surrounded by woods.
The house was brown with white windows and white outlining the roof of the house. The driveway was circular with a flower bed in the center, along with a statue. There was a car garage with a patio on the second level. The house was gorgeous, and I loved it already. Kaden and I walked to the front door and shook hands with the female realtor.
“Hello, my name is Amanda Wilcox, and I will be showing you this house today.”
“I’m excited!” I exclaimed.
“Good! Very good! Before we go inside, I want to show you the backyard.”
We followed Amanda to the backyard. The lawn was well manicured out back as well with a dog kennel!
“Kaden, there is a kennel for the pugs!” I stated excitedly.
“That it is.” Kaden responded as he smiled.
“This property has twenty acres, four-acre lake, and a gigantic flower bed with a bench swing in the middle overlooking the lake. There was also a basketball court and a tennis court, even a Jacuzzi,” Amanda continued.
“Where is the pool?” Kaden inquired.
“Over this way,” Amanda responded. We followed her, and she led us to the regular-sized pool. This pool had a hidden slide with a visible waterfall. We followed her to a bar.
“Here is a grilling station and a tiki bar.”
“That’s nice,” I responded.
“Yes, very nice,” Kaden said.
“Well, let’s go back to the front of the house and step inside, and I’ll walk you through the house,” Amanda continued.
We followed her and walked inside the house. There was an open foyer with a wide set of stairs that led to the second level and a crystal chandelier above the middle of the open foyer. As we strolled through the house, Amanda explained the first room which was a country kitchen. It was very big! Connected to the kitchen were a dining room and a half bath off of the kitchen. Next she showed us a good-sized living room.
“Before we go any farther,” Amanda continued, “this house has six bedrooms, six full baths and three half baths. There is one master bed-room downstairs with a full bath.
Every bedroom has a gigantic walk-in closet. Expect the master bedroom, there are two gigantic closets. There is even a wine cooler in the kitchen.”
“Well, I like everything so far, especially the big closets.”
Kaden laughed. “How’d I know you’d like those?”
“Wouldn’t any girl?” I grinned.
Amanda and Kaden chuckled. “Well let’s move on, shall we?” Kaden responded.
“Right this way.” The realtor showed us the master bedroom downstairs, then the rest of the rooms upstairs. Two of the rooms were joined with a bathroom.
After we completed the house tour, we headed back outside.
“Well, how do you like the house?” Amanda asked.
Kaden glanced at me. “I’m a yes! I like it!”
Kaden turned to Amanda. “We’ll take it!”
I screamed and jumped into Kaden’s arms and hugged him. “Thank you! This is wonderful!”
“You’re welcome!” We kissed and then Kaden set me down. Still smiling he began talking to the realtor.
I was so excited that I didn’t pay attention to what Kaden and Amanda were saying. I still can’t believe that Kaden and I will have our own home soon. Well, not yet. But we are almost there. This will be our future home.
“We can move in as soon as we complete the paperwork and sign the contract which we have to do at the office tomorrow,” Kaden continued.
“This sounds fantastic! I can’t wait!”
When we arrived at the mansion Kaden went to tell Heather about the new house as I showered. When I finished taking a shower, Kaden was already in bed waiting for me.
After I dressed and combed my hair I crawled into bed.
“What did Heather say?” I asked Kaden.
“She is very happy for us and hopes we’ll let her visit.” Kaden responded.
I giggled. “Of course, we will!”
“Are you as excited as I am to be moving into our own home?”
“Of course I am. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
I smiled as we kissed.
The next day we traveled to the broker’s office to complete the paperwork. When we stepped inside, we were gestured to Amanda’s desk. She came in and shook our hands. Then she started talking about the contract and explaining all of the details. I acted like I understood her, but I really didn’t. When we finished the paperwork she handed Kaden a package of papers. We shook Amanda’s hand again. Then Kaden and I stepped into his truck.
Kaden handed me the real estate package.
“Well, how long do we have to wait to purchase the house?” I asked Kaden. I
“When the paperwork for the loan and contract are approved,” Kaden answered.
“How long will that take?”
“Maybe two weeks to finalize everything.”
“What a bummer!”
“The two weeks are going to go by faster than you think.”
“I hope.”
“Well, our future is getting started,” Kaden reiterated.
“It certainly is, and it’ll be better when we’re married.”
“It will. It definitely will.” He smiled at me and I returned the smile.

Sleepover
It’s the middle of April now. Kaden and I are moving into our home today. We were packed and ready to travel. My mom and Dad have come over to help Kaden and me move our belongings and unload our new furniture and appliances. Kaden had ordered the furniture and appliances a couple days before we were to move which I knew nothing about until today. The furniture was black leather with silver-and-white appliances. The same week Kaden and I also purchased all our household items and paraphernalia we needed besides the food.
“Where do you want your belongings?” Mom questioned me.
“In the master bedroom over there,” I answered as I pointed to the specific bedroom.
As Mom took my belongings in the bedroom I assisted Kaden carrying some boxes.
When Mom came back, she went into the kitchen, and sat at the four seated table as she took Riley out of the playpen and began to feed her.
I went over and sat in the chair next to her. “How do you like the house?” I asked Mom.
“It’s beautiful! And I’m glad that you two didn’t move too far away because I’m still planning on your baby-sitting Riley for
me. That is, if you’re still able to do it.” Mom assumed.
“I am absolutely excited to watch Riley this summer. We’re going to have so much fun, aren’t we?” I asked Riley, and she laughed at me. “See, we’re going to have fun!”
Mom chuckled. “I know you will, but I will still call so you need a home phone.”
“I have my cell phone.”
“Yes, but unlike other teenagers, your cell phone is not glued to your hip.”
I laughed. “Don’t worry; she’ll be fine with me, Mom.”
“I know Riley will be, but I would still like to call.”
“That’s fine, but every time you call, everything will be perfect.”
Mom giggled. “I trust you, Sara. I know Riley will be in good hands.”
“She will, Mom, I’ll take good care of my sister.”
Mom grinned at me. “I think I’d be a lost cause without you.”
We chuckled. “You’ll be fine, Mom.”
“I don’t know about that because I love you and Riley, so I think I would be a mad person.”
We laughed. “Awe, Mom, we love you and Dad too.”
“I know you and Riley do.”
“So when are you and Dad planning on leaving?”
“Well, you don’t get out of school until June so we were thinking a week after you get out of school. So you can have an entire week to prep for Riley and anything else you need to get done.”
“That’s fine with me, Mom.”
Mom kissed my forehead. “Thank you, Sweetheart.”
“Not a problem, Mom.” I smiled at her.
She finished feeding Riley. Then Riley wanted to play.
“Do you want to play with Riley while I help Kaden and your dad?” Mom asked.
“No, Mom, I will help. You can go and play with Riley in the living room.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, go on.” I gestured her toward the living room. Once she was there, I finished bringing in the remainder of the items. Once we moved the last box in the proper room,
Kaden and my dad took a break, and Dad rocked Riley to sleep while Mom and I put away items beginning with the bathroom in our master bedroom.
“How are your friends?” Mom questioned me.
“Anna is mad at me, and I haven’t been on Facebook to see if Susie replied to my message yet.” I responded.
“Why is Anna mad at you?”
“She thinks the mansion and money have gone to my head and doesn’t want to talk to me until she’s ready, so I’m not bothering her.”
“Well, that’s not nice of her to say.”
“It’s not, but at least she told me how she feels rather than not telling me at all.”
“When do you think she’ll talk to you again?”
“I’m not sure? I guess whenever she’s ready. I really don’t know. It could be any day anytime.”
“She’ll come around; don’t worry.”
“I know; that’s what Kaden said too.”
“Can you tell me what time it is?”
I took out my cell phone and checked the time. “It’s five-fifty-six.”
“What a fast day this has been!”
“Yes, it did go by fast. Do you want to order pizza?”
“That’s a wonderful idea!”
Mom and I finished with the bathroom. Then we found the guys to see if they wanted pizza too.
Dad and Kaden were chatting while Riley was sleeping in her playpen in the living room.
“Do you two want pizza?” I questioned Dad and Kaden.
“Sure,” Kaden said.
“Sounds good to me,” Dad answered.
“What kind pizza do you two want?” Mom quizzed them.
“How about a pepperoni and sausage, meat lovers and whatever you two want?” Dad requested.
“Okay, well, I want a pineapple pizza with extra pineapple. What about you, Mom?” I asked.
“I’ll take the same as you,” Mom stated.
“Okay, I’m going to order now,” I told everyone.
Mom walked over and sat next to Dad. They all started talking and laughing.
I dialed Pizza Huts number and order the pizzas. Then I stepped over to the living room and sat next to Kaden.
“When are the furniture and appliances arriving?” I asked Kaden
Kaden checked the time. “In the next twenty minutes the deliverymen should be here.”
“Well, I guess Mom and I can pick up the pizzas,” I suggested.
“Would you mind leaving now? We need drinks,” Kaden reminded us.
“Sure, let’s go,” Mom said.
We got into the car and drove to the grocery store first to purchase drinks. Next we picked up the pizzas and drove back to the house. When we got there, we saw Kaden signing the paperwork with the movers then leaving in their truck.
Kaden came over to help us.
“That didn’t take long,” I said.
“No, not with four men it didn’t, but the paper and plastic coverings were still on the
Table,” Kaden added.
“Well, we can take them off,” I hinted.
I handed Kaden the pizzas. Then Mom and I brought the drinks and bags we had purchased from the store and advanced toward the house.
After we took the paper and plastic coverings off the table, I wiped the table off and then we sat down to eat. Riley was still asleep so we had time to eat before she awoke.
“Well, now, you have your furniture and appliances situated, so what are you planning to do now?” Dad questioned.
“I think we’re done for tonight, but tomorrow we are going grocery shopping and putting more things away.”
“It has been a long day. I’m ready to take a relaxing shower and hit the sheets.” Dad said just as Riley woke up. Dad walked over and changed her. Then he brought her to the table. Mom finished eating and then took Riley and fed her while Dad and I cleaned up. Kaden busily took off the remaining plastic and paper coverings from the furniture.
Once we cleaned up, I gave Mom and Dad all the leftover pizza and kept two slices of each kind for Kaden and me.
When my mom and dad left, we hugged and said good-bye. Then Kaden and I went out to the backyard to check on the pugs only to find them asleep in their doghouse, so we decided to just let them sleep there tonight.
Kaden and I crawled into bed.
“Kaden,” I whispered.
There was no answer so I figured he’d fallen asleep.
The next morning after feeding the pugs, I sat down to write the grocery list, while
Kaden plugged in the fridge and other appliances. What a huge fridge with a bottom freezer and double doors on the top!
After we paid for the groceries we headed home, unloaded the groceries and put them away then Kaden and I took a break as we watched a movie in the living room and ate lunch.
“All this unpacking is making me tired,” I confessed.
“It’s worth it though,” Kaden smiled.
“Awe, Kaden, I think they love each other,” I said passionately as I looked toward the pugs who were cuddled together in the dogged.
“I bet they do; they never want to be apart,” Kaden smiled.
“I’m going to go check my Facebook.”
“Okay, I’m going to start putting everything away.”
I got out my laptop and checked my Facebook, but there were no messages. So I logged off and went to help Kaden unpack the remaining boxes.
“We’re finally done!” I sighed heavily noticing the time was eight-thirty.
“I’m starving after all that unpacking,” Kaden said.
After dinner Kaden and I climbed into bed falling into a
deep sleep.
The next day Kaden and I played with the pugs most of the day. When dinner time started to come around I called Heather and my parents to see if they wanted to come over for dinner. They all agreed. I even texted Anna and asked her, but she didn’t answer me. But I went ahead and told her where I lived in case she decided to come. I remembered her telling me not to contact her, but I didn’t feel right forgetting her even though she’s mad at me.
Tonight I’m fixing lasagna and garlic bread and for desert I fixed cheesecake.
When everyone arrived, I fixed their plates and Kaden served them a drink. The only person who hadn’t showed up was Anna, so I went ahead and fixed Kaden and me a plate. I left Anna’s plate bare in case she came.
As we ate and talked, I heard a knock at the door. I got up and answered the door only to find Anna standing there.
We just stared at each other. “Nice of you to come,” I greeted her.
“Nice home,” Anna said hesitatingly.
“Thank you. Would you like to come in for dinner?”
“Sure. Thank you.”
Everyone greeted Anna, and she greeted them. Anna sat down as I served her dinner.
Then I joined her. Everyone began talking again as Anna consumed her dinner.
“So how have you been?” I questioned Anna.
“I’ve been great!” Anna answered enthusiastically.
“That’s good.”
Anna looked at me sadly. “I’m sorry about what I said. I know you’re not like that. I just said that because I was mad at you for not calling or texting me. I really overreacted.”
I smiled. “It’s okay. I accept your apology. I want to say that I didn’t mean to not call you, but I’ve been busy.”
“I found that out when you sent me the text inviting me here instead of at Heather’s mansion.”
“I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings.”
“I should have known better than to get mad.”
“Something else seems to be wrong. I can tell by your facial expression.”
“Rick and I got into a fight.”
“Oh, no!” I responded in total shock. “What happened?”
“Can we go somewhere and talk?”
