Love Goes On Page 16
“What about the nurses?”
“When the club activities start, there will be five nurses who will be able to help. There’ll be one nurse every night and day.”
“Well, that’s great! I’m glad things are moving fast with the club. I hope the construction of the buildings will move fast also.”
Kaden chuckled. “So what are you doing?”
“I’m just thinking.” He sat beside me.
“About what?”
“A lot of things that are on my mind. We still need a planner wedding planner.”
“While you cook lunch, I’ll sit here and call around to see who I can get.”
“Okay.” We kissed. Then I got up and started fixing lunch. We were having battered shrimp with tartar sauce.
I heard Kaden hanging up the telephone and calling over and over. I hoped he could find a wedding planner for me.
“I finally found a wedding planner,” Kaden explained.
“Thank goodness!” I responded happily.
He sat down while I took out the shrimp and fixed our plates.
“Your planner is a woman named Alyssa Lambert.” Kaden told me.
“When are we meeting?” I questioned.
“She can meet with you next Saturday.”
“That sounds great!” I immediately sat down to eat with Kaden. “Susie and her mom had a talk.”
“Did it go over well?”
“Her mom explained everything to her. She still wants to come visit me, so I can see her baby and spend some time with me.”
“That will be nice.”
“Yeah, I’d love for her to come back to see me.”
“Well, you’ll see her when she comes back with the baby.”
“I know. We’re going to be so busy now with the club and the wedding too.”
He chuckled. “I know, but we have help.”
“Thank goodness for that! Help is always nice to have.”
“What do we have planned the remainder of the night?”
“My mom wants me to come over for dinner tonight.”
“That’s good because I have to do some final paperwork for the club and I wanted to phone my parents and Heather to tell them of the club.”
“We should have a big dinner one night and invite Susie.”
“That sounds nice. I’ll mention it.”
“I will too.” I checked the clock. It was two-forty-five.
“We’ll schedule the dinner for tomorrow night,” Kaden suggested.
“Will Susie be able to make it?”
“We’ll make that possible.”
I smiled. “This will be nice to have everyone together.”
“It will, but we’re only missing two people.”
“Your parents?”
“Yeah, I wonder if they’ll come.”
“Why not ask them? I don’t think they’d turn down their future prince.”
Kaden hinted. “You’d be surprised!”
“The worst they can say is no.”
“That’s right; now call.”
He stepped into the living room to telephone them. I started cleaning up. While I’m washing the dishes, he came in the kitchen to help me dry the dishes.
“Well?” I hinted.
“They will come,” Kaden responded excitedly.
“That’s great! How do I act though?”
“Like yourself.”
“But shouldn’t I have a bit more class since they’re king and queen?”
“That doesn’t mean you have to act differently. You’ll be fine.” We finished the dishes and then sat at the table in the kitchen to talk.
“Will you act differently around them?”
“I will. You’ll see a side of me that you’ve never seen before.”
“Okay, I’m confused. If you have to act differently, why do I not act the same?”
“You’re not a royal yet.”
“But I will become one.”
He chuckled. “You are driving me nuts with these questions.”
“I’m sorry. I’m trying to understand things and it seems to be harder than I thought.”
“You are worrying too much besides it’s almost time for you to go.”
I checked the time on my cell phone, and he was right. It was four-twenty-three.
“Well, I’m going to drive over to my mom’s house. I’ll call you when I’m coming back.”
“If I don’t answer then I’m in bed.”
We kissed. Then I stepped in my car and drove to my mom’s place. When I arrived, I knocked and was invited in by Mom. I was seated at the table while she cooked.
“How have you been, Sara?” Mom questioned.
“I’ve been well. I have a great deal going on right now.” I responded.
“What’s going on?”
“Kaden has decided to start a club for asthmatic children, and I have decided on a wedding date.”
“That’s exciting! What’s the date?”
“June 25, 2012.”
Mom took in a deep breath. “Sara, I’m really excited right now about both events. Where are you going to get married?”
“At Kaden’s parent’s castle. It’s a family tradition.”
“Oh, my goodness! That will be so lovely!”
“It sure will.” I grinned.
“Sara, this wedding is going to be gorgeous!”
I smiled. “I never dreamed I’d be getting married in a castle!”
“I never thought I’d see you getting married in a castle either, but they say never expect the unexpected.” Mom smiled as she winked at me.
I grinned. “Kaden is overjoyed that we’re finally getting closer to beginning a family.”
“I’m sure he is! Are you not excited too?”
“I’m excited too! I’m just nervous about not only living up to the status as Kaden’s wife, but living up to the status as princess.”
“I know, Sweetheart. I know.”
“I just want everything to fall into place. When you rush into things, sometimes it doesn’t go the way you plan it to.”
“Well, I wouldn’t say that. I know some friends of mine that married two years later after meeting each other and four months later they had their first born baby. You know it’s been ten years and they’re still married and they’re still strongly in love.”
“Some people are lucky I guess.”
“Your marriage will be perfectly fine, Sara.”
“If I decide not to have kids I’m positive Kaden will hate me.”
Mom touched my hand as she smiled. “It’ll all come together.”
“Where is my daughter?” Dad asked.
I turned around stood up, and hugged my dad and Riley.
“Hello, you two. Where have you guys been hiding?”
“I was giving Riley a bath because she wrote all over herself with markers.”
“Oh, no!” I giggled.
“She had a blast with the markers, but it was time consuming washing it all off of her.” Dad chuckled.
“I bet it was.” Dad put Riley down, and she hugged me. Then she ran into the living room to play.
Dad and I sat at the table while Mom continued cooking.
“What have you been doing?” Dad asked.
“She has been planning a wedding and a club,” Mom replied.
“Has she now?” Dad questioned.
“Yes, Kaden and I are getting married on June 25, 2012.”
“That’s wonderful! What about the club?”
“The club is going to be for asthmatic children. Kaden created the idea.”
“Well, I’m excited for the both of you.
 Dad commented.
“Thank you. Kaden is hiring me a wedding planner.”
“Oh, that will be so helpful for you. Having a wedding planner will create less stress for you; at least that’s what they’re supposed to do.” Dad chuckled.
“I hope my wedding planner helps me a lot because if it were up to me my wedding would be the worst of all time.” I giggled.
Dad grinned. “I thought every girl dreamed of what their wedding would be like right down to the last flower petal?”
“I have dreamed, Dad, but now that I’m getting married in a castle; I don’t know anymore?”
Dad chuckled. “It’ll all come back to you.”
“Dinner is ready so lets eat,” Mom announced.
We fixed our plates and sat down to eat.
“Sis, home?” Riley said. I looked toward Mom wonder what she said.
“Riley wants you to come home,” Mom replied.
“Sorry, my home is with Kaden now. I will visit as often as I can though,” I replied sweetly.
Riley didn’t say anything more as she continued to eat.
“It was nice to see you tonight,” Dad stated.
“Yes, I enjoyed this get together; we should do this more often.”
“We should, but you’re busy, and we’re busy.”
“I know it. Well, I’m going to hurry back home after I help you clean up.”
“I’ll see you again soon. I’m going to put Riley to bed.” Dad concluded.
I hugged and kissed Dad and Riley. Then I began to help Mom. “Riley is something else!” I exclaimed.
“Yes, she is. Ever since she started talking gibberish, Riley is always so curious about everything and talking constantly,” Mom replied.
I giggled. “Kaden is really anxious about having children.”
Mom smiled. “That’s good! But I have to say children are a great deal to handle.”
“He feels like he’s ready.”
“Just wait on it. When you’re ready, he’ll be ready for sure.”
After I finished helping Mom I telephoned Kaden to let him know I was on my way home. I said good-bye to Mom and climbed in my car to head home.
When I arrived home, Kaden greeted me at the door with a kiss.
“How was dinner?” Kaden inquired.
“It went well. Riley is something else.” I stated.
“I bet she is.”
“She wanted me to move back home with her.”
He laughed. “Oh, my!”
“I told her that I would visit as often as I could and she didn’t say anything else.”
“Kids are so comical and think of the silliest things!”
“I know that they do. You know, I forgot to mention to Mom about dinner tomorrow night.”
“You can call her in the morning and ask her. Hopefully they can come.”
The contractors with his crew have begun construction on the cabins, but first some outside games and activities needed to be built for the club. It was so exciting to see the finished cabins and the beginning frame of the club! Today Kaden and I are traveling to the mall to pick out a new TV. We have waited this long because we rarely watch TV, but I needed to catch up on Teen Mom and the we wanted to have TV in case someone at dinner tonight would want to watch TV.
I’ve missed many of the episodes of Teen Mom. I am excited for dinner tonight because I get to meet Kaden’s parents face-to-face. I’m nervous because I don’t want to say or do the wrong thing to make them not like me or even think I’m not good enough for their son.
Meeting new people makes me nervous and shy, especially when I’m meeting a king and queen.
“I can tell you’re worrying,” Kaden noticed.
“I’m sorry, but I really can’t help it,” I replied.
“Babe, please don’t worry; you’ll be fine. They’ll love you. Besides they already do.”
“They might be lying just to impress you.”
Kaden responded, “Not a chance. My parents would not lie to me.”
“Are you sure about that?” I questioned with raised eyebrows.
He raised his eyebrows. “I’m absolutely sure. Now stop worrying.”
I took a deep breath. “Okay, I’ll stop. What do I fix for dinner tonight though?”
“My parents have an appetizer, two meals and dessert, and sometimes two different drinks.”
My eyes bulged. “Are you serious?”
“I am. That’s how we eat.”
“Why haven’t you told me this before? You’re probably starving from the one dinner I feed you.”
He chuckled. “It’s okay. Sometimes the food gets to be too much.”
“I would have to agree, but let’s save our appetite for dinner because even though I eat like crazy, I couldn’t keep all this food down.”
“Sounds good to me too. I’ll cook the food because it’s complicated food and has to be presented nicely.”
“Oh, then, you can have that job!”
Kaden grinned. “I figured you’d say that!”
“I don’t want to present food that looks like a pile of nothing.”
“That would be all right.”
“No, it wouldn’t. Your parents would be upset.”
“Well, I can’t say if they would or not.”
“Well, you serve the food and drinks.”
“I will. No worries!”
“Thank you. You’re very kind.”
“Oh, yes, I am!”
“You’re being extremely happy today.”
“I’m happy to be with you. Sharing this family dinner with you is awesome!”
“I couldn’t imagine my life without you. Who knows what I’d be doing?”
We giggled. “You’d probably be getting into trouble with boys and dating dirt hags like
Trevor!”
“Hey! Don’t down me!”
“I’m only joking. Don’t get so defensive.”
“Sorry. I just don’t want Trevor thrown in my face. I didn’t know he was so mean.”
“I’m sorry too.” We kissed.
We arrived at Wal-Mart and purchased a 42-inch TV. When we got back home, Kaden hooked up the TV and then drove to the grocery store to purchase the food and drinks.
While he was gone, I sat and watched reruns of Teen Mom and hoped tonight went well with everyone cooperating.
After about an hour, Kaden returned and started cooking. I stood up and offered my help.
“Can I assist you?” I questioned Kaden.
“I would love for you to help me. Follow these drink recipes,” Kaden directed me as he handed me two pieces of paper.
I looked at them and saw one drink Melon Agua Fresca with no alcohol. The next drink did have alcohol and it was called House Margarita.
“All right, these don’t look too difficult to make.” I went to work making the two drinks while Kaden kept cooking. “What are you making?” I questioned Kaden.
“I’m making curried chicken salad for the appetizer, and then grilled fish with tomato-olive relish for the first meal. The second meal will be Persian kebabs, and the dessert will be Robert’s strawberry shortcake”
“Wow! This sounds really delicious! I hope I can eat it all.”
He chuckled. “It’s alright if you can’t. When I was served food at my parent’s castle I couldn’t finish my food before they would come take it away.”
“That’s rude.”
“The servants weren’t being rude. That’s how things work.”
“I wish I had learned about this food earlier in my life because it smells so good and probably tastes delectable.”
Kaden smiled at me. “All you had to do was ask me what foods I
used to eat, but you didn’t.”
I laughed. “I hadn’t realized you grew up on such good tasting food.”
“What did you expect?”
“That you just ate regular food like me.”
“Well, I eat both types of food, and a change is nice.”
“What do you mean by a change?”
“I like eating the food you make. It’s a nice change from the food I grew up eating in
Rome.”
I finished the recipes and put the pitchers in the fridge after tasting the non-alcoholic drink with Kaden tasting the alcoholic drink. They both are luscious.
“Did you get Susie to come?” I questioned.
“No, she couldn’t attend because she was busy,” I responded.
“Busy. Did she say why?”
“No, I didn’t ask.”
“Okay. Well. I guess I’ll call her later.”
“That would be nice!”
“Yeah. Well, how far along is the food coming?”
“The food is almost ready.”
“I can’t believe that dinner time is almost here.”
“You have to consider we didn’t get up until twelve. Then we went to get the TV and started dinner around three. Two hours had already gone by, and it was now five.”
“Yeah, that’s true. I’m going to set the table.”
I arranged the table, and when I finished, the doorbell rang. I answered it only to find Heather and my parents standing there.
“Hello!” I greeted everyone.
“Hello, Darling! How are you?” Heather asked as she hugged me.
“I’ve been well. Kaden is in the kitchen.”
“That’s good to hear. Okay, I’ll go say hello.” She walked toward the kitchen.
“Hello, Mom, Dad and Riley.” I greeted them heartily as I hugged all of them tightly.
“Hello, Sara,” Dad responded.
“Hi, Sis,” Riley said.
“Hello, Sweetheart,” Mom said.
“The dining room table is set already.” I gestured them in the correct direction.
As I seated them Heather walked in, and I seated her too. I then went and prepared the drinks.
After I poured all the drinks, I put the pitchers back into the fridge.
“Where are your parents?” I questioned Kaden.
“I’m not sure? They should be here soon.”
